Santa Ben completed formal training at the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School in Midland, Michigan—the oldest continuously operating Santa school in the world, established in 1937.
The immersive, multi-day program brings together Santas from across the United States and around the globe for intensive instruction in the history, tradition, and responsibility of portraying Santa Claus. Through a comprehensive curriculum, performers develop skills in storytelling, communication, presentation, and maintaining the authenticity of the role.
“It’s astonishing how much there is to learn. The experience goes far beyond the suit—it shapes how you connect, how you listen, and how you create something meaningful for each family.”
Graduating as part of the 2022 class marked a significant step in Santa Ben’s professional journey—building on early training and reinforcing a commitment to authenticity, preparation, and continual growth.
The experience reflects a deeper truth about the role: that portraying Santa is not simply about appearance, but about embodying the spirit behind it—approaching each interaction with care, intention, and a genuine connection.
